Mason City Mary Sue Dodge, 70, of 316 S. Tennessee Ave., Mason City, Iowa died Tuesday Sept. 8, 2009 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 2:00p.m. Friday Sept. 11, 2009 at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, with Rev. Craig Steimel officiating with inurnment in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30p.m.-7:00p.m. with a rosary at 6:30p.m. Family suggests memorials to Breast Cancer of Iowa.

Sue was born on January 15, 1939 in Mason City the daughter of Willis and Agnes (Gasaway) Fitzgerald. She was the oldest of 5 siblings.

She graduated from St. Josephs High School in 1957.

Sue married Gordon Dodge in 1960 and moved to Florida. To this union was born Dawn Mary in 1963.

Sue and Gordon divorced in 1971 and Sue and Dawn returned to Iowa.

Sue worked for Diamond Vogel Paint for ten years. She then went to work for Mason City Glass where she met her lifetime companion Phil Abram.

Sue then went to work for Wal-Mart when it first came to Mason City. She retired from Wal-Mart after 20 years of service.

Sue enjoyed watching the twins, the one’s in Minnesota and her granddaughters in Mason City. She enjoyed attending Kate and Kristin’s events, concerts and athletic contests.

Sue is survived by her faithful partner of 28 years Phil Abram, daughter Dawn (Joe) Campbell; the lights of her life granddaughters Kate and Kristin; 3 sisters Nicki French, Joan Haywood Behr and Meg (Maury) Heinrichs; a brother Bill (Terri) Fitzgerald and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Ray French and Robert Haywood.
