Betty Priscilla Randall
Mason City-Betty Priscilla Randall, 83, of 950 15th Street Northeast, Mason City died Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery-Mason City, with Reverend Michael Schueller officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Betty. They can be sent to 950 15th Street Northeast, Mason City.
Betty was born October 7, 1925, in Mason City, the daughter of Dewane and Dorothy (Bull) Buchanan. She graduated from Mason City High School and attended the Junior College in Mason City. Betty married Fred Randall at State Center on March 31 1947, and to this union was born one son. Betty was a homemaker, taking care of her house and son.
For a number of years Betty also worked at the Boomhowers Department Store. She also played the accordion for the KGLO radio station in the 1930’s. Betty loved children and was known for giving all of the neighbor children ice cream. She also had a passion for feeding the squirrels and birds at her home and had made it a regular routine since 1955.
In her spare time Betty loved playing Bingo and bowling with Fred. They were the champions of the senior bowling league!
She is survived by her son Mike Randall, Mason City, her grandchildren Joe Randall and his fiancée Pam Gobeli, Mason City and Michele (Bill) Virnig, Brookings, South Dakota, great grandchildren Steven Randall, Mason City and Tyler Virnig, Brookings, South Dakota, a sister Pat Stevens, Mason City, brother-in-law Jim (Mary Lou) Randall, Davenport, FL, nephews B.J. Stevens, Pensicola, FL, Greg (Mari Fran) Randall, Chicago, IL, nieces Stephanie (Greg) Knapp, Racine, WI and Cindy Randall, Racine, WI, and great nieces and nephews Austin and Andrew Randall, and Phoebe and Aidan Knapp.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
