Manly- John Dooley 99, of 601 East South Street, died Friday, October 2, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday October 6, 2009, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street, Mason City, with Reverend Fred Gillipse Sr. officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the John Dooley Memorial Fund in care of Emma Parrett 326 1st Street N.W. Mason City, Iowa 50401.

John was born on December 24, 1909, in Mississippi the son of George and Suzie Dooley. John was raised in Mississippi and worked as a farm hand. He was united in marriage to Annelle. John relocated to be closer to family in Mason City several years ago, living with his sister Emma until he moved to the Manly Nursing and Rehab Center.

John loved fishing, hunting, playing cards and drinking Moonshine.

John is survived by his sisters Emma Parrett, Mason City and Lizzie Mae Johnson, Memphis, TN, along with several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, wife Annelle and brothers Frank, George, Richard and James Dooley and one sister Octivia Quals.
