| | | Dateline: Chicago, IL Mary Boozell, 43, 24725 Patriot Square Dr., Plainfield, IL, formerly of Mason City, IA, died Wednesday, October. 28, 2009, of cancer surrounded by her family in her home.
A memorial mass will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 Adams Ave N., Mason City, IA with Monsignor John Hemann officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2009 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street Northeast, Mason City with a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy 122 W., Mason City, IA.
Memorials may be given to Bethel Christian Mission, PO Box 206055, Louisville, KY 40250 c/o Hentzel Family or the Right to Life and Catholic Charities.
Mary was born September 16, 1966, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Vincent and Rosalie Ann (Carmody) Boozell. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1985. She was involved in cheerleading, journalism, dance and freshman basketball. Mary attended North Iowa Area Community College, then lived and worked in Minnesota for 11 years. She moved to Chicago, where she worked at several firms as an executive assistant, and for the past four years at SPSS in downtown Chicago.
Mary was generous with her time and talent, working or donating to charitable organizations; Community Kitchen, animal shelter, Catholic Charities, and the Right to Life.
Mary was a ray of sunshine, full of laughter, beautiful eyes, smile, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mary had strong faith in God and true sense of living her Faith. During her battle with cancer, Mary, to quote her Oncologist, “Mary was full of Grace”.
Mary had many friends. Mary enjoyed her professional accomplishments, family get-togethers, friends, and her cats, Cleo, Sydney and Shey. Mary loved family reunions, white water rafting, holidays, time with her nieces and nephews, and a fun loving relationship with her brothers Chris and Matthew and sister Katie.
Mary is survived by her parents, Vince and Rosalie Boozell, Mason City, Iowa; siblings Christopher (Jeanne) Boozell, Matthew (Lora) Boozell, Katie (Michael) McKee; 9 nieces and nephews; Molly and John Vincent Boozell, Leah, Zac and Jeb Boozell, Megan, Brandon, Nathan and Ryan McKee; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
