| | | Marjorie (Foley) Evans, 94, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009 at her home in Evansville, In. She attended the Old North Methodist Church in Evansville and she was a former member and very active at the former St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Princeton. She worked at DeJongs in Evansville for several years. She was a member of the Golden Fleece Chapter Order of Eastern Star, where she was the Worthy Matron and held several state offices. She was a former member of the White Shrine.
She was born August 28, 1915 in Casey, Illinois to William & Harriet (Claybaugh) Foley, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Loren Leigh Evans in 1970; son, George Evans in 1981; 4 brothers, Lewis, James, Ross & Kenneth Foley; sister, Mary O'Leary; half brother, Floyd Foley; half sister, Marie Davis
Marjorie is survived by her 3 sisters, Estella Herman of Houston, Texas, Joyce Speedy and Juanita Utley both of Evansville; grandson, Leigh Allen (Patty) Evans of Greenwood; 2 great grandchildren, Kailey and Bailey Evans; daughter-in-law, Sharon Hurst of Newburgh; many nieces and nephews
Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 11, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Mike Monahan, Rev. Tim O'Leary and Rev. Don Utley officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the Colvin Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the Heritage Hospice for their loving care of Marjorie.
