| | | Darwin Lee Williams, 88, went home to his heavenly reward with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 10:15 p.m.
He is survived by his cherished spouse of 67 years, Iva Lou (Brown) Williams of Princeton; a daughter, Donna Jean Williams of Princeton; a son, Timothy Lee Williams of Avon, IN; three grandchildren, Audrey Burger (Erik) of Evansville, IN, Darby O’Neal (Rayna) of New Haven, IL, and Bailey Nicole Williams of Avon, IN.
He was born July 2, 1921 in Owensville, Indiana to William Henry and Della Florence (McClellan) Williams. He graduated from Owensville High School and Henderson Kentucky Barber College. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from January 1941 to October 1945. He served in Panama, Australia and the Philippines in World War II. He worked for International Harvester, Emge Packing Co., Paul Holder Funeral Home and was a Barber for 40 years where retired in January 2001.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, V.F.W. 1147 and the Barbers Union 700.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Roy, Melvin (Bud), George and Paul Williams; four sisters Violet Harmon, Juanita Selby, Thelma Almond and Janette Oubre.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10 A.M. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Pastor George Prinzing officiating. Burial will be at the Maumee Cemetery in Johnson, IN. Friends may visit from 4 until 8 P.M. on Monday at Colvin Funeral Home. VFW No. 1147 will provide full military rites at the cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences may be made online at www.colvinfuneralhome.com
