| | | Jack J. Hurst, 74, passed away on Tuesday November 3, 2009 at his home in Sandburn, IN. He had lived in Sandburn since 1997, moving from Oakland City. He had worked for Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville. He also served in the US Air Force for 10 years, part of which was during the Korean War. Jack had been a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Eagles.
He was born on January 1, 1935 in Princeton, IN. to Jess & Helen (Davis) Hurst, both deceased. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, James Hurst and Jess Hurst Jr.
Jack is survived by his 4 sons, Steven Hurst of Marion, IL, David Hurst of Crawfordsville, IN, Michael Hurst of Sandburn, IN, and Brent Brazier of IL; 3 daughters, Cathy Brooks of Canada, Susie Boyle of Oakland City, IN, and Lori Cox of Winslow, IN; 20 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Vonda Collins of Vincennes.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 5, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Greg Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery in Princeton, In. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. VFW Post #1147 will provide full military rites at the cemetery.
