| | | FARRINGTON F. POST SO. BURLINGTON — Farrington Fisher Post (Babe) passed away in his home on May 21, 2008, after a long illness. Babe was born in St. Albans on May 18, 1925, the son of the late Farrington D. Post and Ruth Fisher Post. He graduated from B.F.A. in 1943 and the University of Vermont in 1950. During World War II and the Korean Conflict, he served in the Army, achieving the rank of first lieutenant. On September 5, 1949, he married Beverly Hall and they enjoyed 59 years together. For 34 years, he was employed at General Electric in the Finance Department. Upon retirement, Bev and Babe happily spent 24 winters in Fort Myers, Fla. He is survived by his wife; his daughter Betsy and Rod Hayden of St. Albans and their children, Kyle and Rebecca Hayden and Dr. Brian and Jeanne Irwin; his son William and Linda Post of Burlington, and their children, Christy and Eleazer Durfee, William Post II and Katharine Post; his daughter Barbara and Paul Crandell of Queensbury, N.Y., and their children, Tara and Rob Bogucki, Melissa Crandell and Lindsey Crandell. He was blessed with four greatgrandchildren, Fisher Irwin, Ruby Durfee, Jack Hayden and Gwenyth Irwin. He also leaves cousins Robert Fisher of Burlington and Anne Fisher of St. Albans; brothers-in-law Robert and Frances Hall of Shelburne, and Bill and Ann Hall of Williston, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 24, at 2 p.m. in All Saints Episcopal Church, Spear Street, South Burlington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to All Saints Church. Inurnment will be at the Georgia Plains Cemetery at a later date.
