| | | Theodore “Ted” Frierson, Jr., 76 of North Ridgeville passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at his home following a lengthy illness. Ted was born February 1, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up. Ted graduated from John Marshall High School, Kent State University and Case Western Reserve University. He moved to North Ridgeville in 1977 and has lived there since. Ted’s professional career was long and rewarding. He was a teacher, coach and principal for 35 years. He served as an elementary principal in Elyria Schools for over 20 years, most of those as principal of Eastgate Elementary School. Ted mentored many students along the way, several of whom still consider him their “dad”. Ted also worked as a medical technologist for over 20 years at the former St. John Hospital in Cleveland. Ted served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Agnes-Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Cleveland. In addition to his devotion to education, Ted enjoyed fishing, gardening and working on his rental properties. Ted is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tracey (nee Muhlhan), sons, Hollis (Mary), Beary, Theodore “Marcus” and Dominic Bunn, daughters, Michelle (Jerry) Banks, Alicia (Mark) Bunn and Teresa (Scott) Starks, sisters, Rosalie Harris, Edith Kirkwood, Marjorie Watkins, Emma Isaac and Augusta Clark, a brother, John Lee Frieson, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Willis) and Theodore Frierson, Sr. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. where funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Elyria Schools Endowment Fund, c/o Elyria City Schools 42101 Griswold Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
