At DeJong's Funeral Home, we offer numerous services to assist families and survivors in their process through grief.

As the backbone of our grief services, we send the four booklet Continuing Care Series to bereaved survivors and others who would like to receive them. Continuing Care Series is a four booklet set which gently guides the bereaved in their journey toward healing. Eack book gives information and encouragement. We want you to know that we care and will continue to care.

Our library includes several books and videotapes designed to help the bereaved. Several subjects are covered, including an AfterLoss video "Facing the Holidays After Your Loss". All are available for loan to individuals or groups.

In 1988 we began the tradition of holding an annual holiday program for the bereaved. We are continually reviewing this program in order to better serve the community. Our service is held early in December at our funeral home. Included are suggestions for dealing with grief during the holidays, ways to memorialize loved ones, and a candle lighting and remembrance time.

In addition, remembrances are sent to families during the holiday season and at the time of the first anniversary of the death.

We are ever aware that a death leaves families and friends in need of support and are prepared to offer them support in any way we can.
