John Warner Gabbard, 98, of Paris Crossing, died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.

Mr. Gabbard worked at Delco Remy Plant 6 in Anderson, retiring in 1969 after 41 years. He was a member of Coffee Creek Baptist Church in Paris Crossing and U.A.W. Local #662 in Anderson. He enjoyed photography and had been a member of the Camera Club at Delco Remy.
He attended school in Paris Crossing.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Raymond Rosebrock officiating. Calling is from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson with the Rev. W. Sherman Beville officiating.

Born June 30, 1909, in Chesterland, Ohio, Mr. Gabbard was the son of Green and Olga Warner Gabbard.

Surviving are a nephew, John E. Williams of Cape Coral, Florida; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ellen Williams and Jessie Allen.
