| | | Talmadge Eugene Albritton, 82, of Indianapolis died at 3:38 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Albritton worked as an inspector and auditor for Eastern Weighing & Inspection Bureau, formerly L & N Railroad., for 42 years. He was a former member of Ohio Valley Model Railroad Club and had been a semi-professional baseball player for the Cabbage Patch team in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Louisville schools and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed model railroads, dancing, video games and sports, especially bowling and rollerskating.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Jay Blythe officiating. Calling is from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery with military honors by North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars Matt Hester Post 2021.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
Born March 24, 1926, in Springfield, Tennessee, Mr. Albritton was the son of Dewey and Dorothy Likens Albritton. He married Sandra Davis Albritton on July 21, 1979, in Springfield.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Thomas Evans Albritton of Homosassa, Florida; two daughters, Sharon Lynn (Greg) Schnatter of Clarksville and Susan Lee O’Rourke of Las Vegas, Nevada; a stepson, Richard Derek (Jill) Sluder of Clarksville; two stepdaughters, Heidi Uvon (Matthew) Riehl of Mankato, Minnesota, and Sherry Yvette Sluder of Clarksville; a brother, D.C. Albritton of Brandenburg, Kentucky; a sister, Janie (Wayne) Goodlett of Sebring, Florida; two grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
