Eva Grace Deversy Kingen

Eva Grace Deversy Kingen, 96, of Vernon died at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Kingen was a homemaker and worked at Cosco, Inc., in Columbus for 30 years, retiring in 1974 as an inspector. She attended Vernon School and was a member of Vernon Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, music and dancing.

Private calling and funeral service will be at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Dan Corbin officiating. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Vernon Presbyterian Church.

Born February 10, 1912, in Shelby, Indiana, Mrs. Kingen was the daughter of John and Hattie Clements Deversy.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Leslie) Engle of Vernon and Nancy Ross of Butlerville; seven grandchildren, Scott Ross of Butlerville, Don Kingen of Columbus, GiGi Wilson and Kim Herr of North Vernon, Mike Ross of Dupont, Susan Hensley of Paris Crossing and John Brooks; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Brooks; two brothers, Louie and Vernon Deversey; and a nephew, Tom Deversy.
