Evelyn Charlene Brierly, 61, of North Vernon died at 4 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Brierly was a 1965 graduate of North Vernon High School and a graduate of Indiana Business College. She worked at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 32 years, retiring in 1997 as a secretary. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former president and coach of Jennings County Lassie League. She enjoyed attending movies, traveling, shopping and watching her grandchildren play sports. In keeping with Mrs. Brierly’s wishes, cremation is planned. There will be no calling or funeral service. Arrangements were made by Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County. Born May 1, 1947, in North Vernon, Mrs. Brierly was the daughter of Lyman Earl and Wilma O. Page Taulman. Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda K. (Alan) Robbins of Butlerville; a brother, Lynn (Jackie) Taulman of Commiskey; and four grandchildren, Brittany Brierly of North Vernon, and Ariel Burton, Tyler Burton and Trent Burton of Butlerville. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Dianna Kay Taulman.
