| | | Duane Lindsey Case, 52, of North Vernon died Friday July 4, 2008, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg.
Mr. Case owned and operated Double D Trucking from 1990 - 2000, and was a self employed truck driver for Regal Transport in Crothersville from 2000 until his death. He attended Madison High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1972 - 1974. He was a member of Arrowhead Outfitters division of the USA Bass Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock car racing, playing the guitar, singing and spending time with his family.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday July 8 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Mike Shuler officiating. Calling is from 11 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Carmel Cemetery in Deputy with military graveside honors by Matt Hester Post 2021 North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association or Amputee Coalition of America.
Born September 27, 1955, in Scottsburg, Mr. Case was the son of William Harrison Case, Jr., and Bessie Clements Case. He married Deborah Edwards Case on July 4, 2000, in Deputy.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, David Archer of North Vernon and Jason Mann of Florida; three daughters, Melissa (Jon) Trader of Vevay, April (Miguel) Victoriano of Deputy and Marissa (William) Bertram of North Vernon; three brothers, Donald Case, Thomas Case and Joseph Case, all of Deputy; three sisters, Betty Jean Williams and Sondra L. Walp, both of Deputy, and Sharon Lee Willis of Mountain View, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Larry Case.
