Edna Merle Corya Allen Shaul, 85, of Commiskey died at 6:50 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Mrs. Shaul was employed at Dupont State Bank for 24 years. She was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, cooking, traveling and being a grandmother. She was a 1940 graduate of Paris Crossing High School.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Wendell Leach officiating. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after noon Tuesday. Burial will be at Dupont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County, American Cancer Society or Habitat for Humanity.

Born December 24, 1922, in Dupont, Mrs. Shaul was the daughter of Ira H. And Jennie L. Spicer Corya. She married Virgil Lee Allen on September 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death July 10, 1976. She married James O. Shaul on August 30, 1985. He preceded her in death November 14, 2000.

Surviving are sons, Mark (Cindy) Allen and Mike Allen of Commiskey; a daughter, Karen (Darell) Caudill of Madison; eight grandchildren, Brandon Caudill and Brandy Allen of Madison, Kassie Allen and Elizabeth (Greg) Keys of North Vernon, Dawn (Jason) Eberts of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Felicia Allen, Kaitlyn Campbell and Hayley Allen of Commiskey; and three great-grandchildren, Paige Weber of Madison and Chesley and Blane Owens of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; and a sister, Jean Webster.
