| | | Dixie Ann Coombs, 67, of Kaufman, Texas, died unexpectedly Monday, July 14, 2008, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
A former resident of Jennings County, Mrs. Coombs was a 1958 graduate of Hayden High School. She attended her class reunion in June.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard L. Burcham officiating. Calling is from noon until time of the service. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
Born September 1, 1940, in Beech Grove, Mrs. Coombs was the daughter of Sam and Marquerite Lillie Martin. She married Donald Joe Coombs on May 15, 1960.
Surviving are a son, David J. (Debbie) Coombs of Roanoke, Texas; three daughters, DeAnn Conley of Wichita, Kansas, Donna Coombs of Houston, Texas, and Dawn Coombs of Irving, Texas; two brothers, Charlie (Jan) Martin of Mineola, Texas, and Larry (Lillian) Martin of Prescott, Arizona; a grandson, Donnie Coombs of Roanoke; her father-in-law, Joe Coombs of North Vernon; and a brother-in-law, J.W. (Linda) Coombs of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on April 6, 1988; and her mother-in-law, Alice Coombs.
The family would like to extend a "special thanks" to the neighbors and friends who gave Love and comfort to our mom.
