Larry Gene Risk, 56, of Butlerville died at 10 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Risk was an over the road truck driver for Bennett Motor Express in McDonough, Georgia, for 30 years, and a volunteer with the Lovett Township Volunteer Fire Department in Jennings County from 1976 - 1994. He enjoyed his work, collecting toy trains, woodworking and spending time with his family.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Dan Corbin officiating. Calling is from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, with an Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association memorial service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Tea Creek Baptist Cemetery near Lovett. Military graveside honors will be conducted by North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars Matt Hester Post 2021.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born June 3, 1952, in Beech Grove, Mr. Risk was the son of Lloyd Holton, Sr., of Butlerville and the late Alice Marie Risk Holton.

Surviving with his father are a son, Larry Joe (Sheila) Risk of North Vernon; a companion, Theresa Wilcher of Indianapolis; two brothers, Lloyd Holton, Jr., of Indianapolis and David (Lori) Holton of Butlerville; a sister, Tina Warner of Butlerville; and two grandchildren, Victoria and Samantha Risk of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
