| | | Donald L. Kinnear, 59, of Scipio died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday August 14, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Kinnear worked at Cummins Engine Company for 30 years, retiring in 1998 from the Fuel Pump System. He then worked part-time at AutoZone from 1999 to 2007. A 1967 graduate of North Vernon High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1967 to 1973, and was a member of Scipio Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, nature and animals, and especially enjoyed time with his family and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, at Scipio Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mitch Coggin officiating. Calling is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Scipio Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Scipio Presbyterian Church.
Born November 2, 1948, in North Vernon, Mr. Kinnear was the son of William Claude and Roberta Laverne Hough Kinnear. He married Joyce Luers on December 7, 1968, at First United Methodist Church in North Vernon.
Surviving with his wife are his mother, of North Vernon; two daughters, Angee (Allan) Leeds of Scipio and Stacy (Eric) Bender of Noblesville; three sisters, Sue (Dean) Lucas of North Vernon and Carole (James) Gabbard and Cathy (Mike) Dalgleish of Dupont; and five grandchildren, Tyler Leeds and Haylee Leeds of Scipio, and Ali Nestle, Logan Nestle and Carson Bender of Noblesville.
He was preceded in death by his father.
