Rosemary Morin, 76, of Commiskey died peacefully at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Morin worked for the Jennings County Schools Food Service at North Vernon Middle School and Graham Creek Elementary School for 15 years. She had also worked at Jones’ Turkey Farm in Jennings County and Columbus Process. She was an active member of Tea Creek Baptist Church, took care of the church nursery for many years and was a member of the American Baptist Women’s Mission Circle. She volunteered with the St. Vincent Jennings Hospital Guild for many years and the Graham Creek Good News Club for five years.

She attended St. Mary’s Catholic and Vernon Elementary Schools and graduated from Vernon High School in 1950. She enjoyed traveling, honeymooned in Washington, D.C., and camped with her family all over the United States most every summer. Her first camping trip was to Niagara Falls in 1957 and she continued camping through 2007. She enjoyed visiting caves, national and historic parks, took two summer trips to Alaska and traveled to the Arctic Circle. She loved sewing, gardening and baking cookies for her grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at Tea Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Richard L. Burcham and David Wharton officiating. Calling will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Tea Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Tea Creek Cemetery or Hospice of Jennings County.

Born March 3, 1932, at home in Vernon Township, Jennings County, Mrs. Morin was the daughter of Valentine and Fayette Carney Biehle. She married Earl Morin on July 4, 1952, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Columbus. They had lived on their farm in Southern Jennings County since 1953.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years; a daughter, Victoria (Jerry) Strickland of North Vernon; sons, Daniel (Deborah) Morin and Kenneth (Tina) Morin of North Vernon and Jeffrey (Monica) Morin of Greenfield; grandchildren, Eric Strickland of Royal Oak, Michigan, Dr. Aaron Strickland of Indianapolis, Jennifer (AJ) Morin Wilmoth of Stockbridge, Georgia, Gregory Morin of Indianapolis, Andrew Morin, Kendra Morin, Kevin Morin and Katie Morin of North Vernon, and Nathan Morin and Caleb Morin of Greenfield; a sister, Delores (Jim) Sorg of Elizabeth; brothers, Frank (Ann) Biehle and Ralph (Alberta) Biehle of North Vernon; and 47 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Catherine Garbutt and Virginia Hill; a brother, Gene Biehle; two nieces; and a nephew.
