Ilona Mae Hendricks, 76, of Butlerville passed away at 1:57 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at her home.

Mrs. Hendricks was a homemaker and housewife. She also worked in Admissions at New Vaughn Hospital in Selma, Alabama, for 15 years and at Jennings Community Hospital in North Vernon for 2 years.

She attended Vernon High School in Vernon, Indiana. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking her famous pecan pie.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Patrick Harrigan officiating. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, and after 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Burial will be at Butlerville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Salvation Army of Jennings County or Feed the Children Fund.

Born September 18, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Mrs. Hendricks was the daughter of Duard Litton and Gertrude Roberts Litton. She married Landon Noel Hendricks on May 31, 1954 in Nineveh, Indiana. He survives.

Surviving along with her husband are a son, Jesse (Linda) Hendricks of Daphine, Alabama; one daughter, Debbie Litton of Indianapolis, Indiana; three brothers, Jack (Debbie) Mote of Versailles, Gayle (Mary) Litton of Martinsville, and Charles “Butch” (Brenda) Allee of Nebraska; 11 sisters, Ruth Large and Roberta (Virgil) Meeker of North Vernon, Alice (Danny) Beach and Cindy (Wayne) Vanosdol of Holton, Karen Barrett of Butlerville, Juanita (Walt) Hoyt of Columbus, Bessie Mullins of Bloomington, Christina “Sue” (Harvey) McDougal of Martinsville, Betty (Jerry) Wright of Indianapolis, Patricia (Kelly) Clark of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Martha Osborn of Stockdale, Texas; six grandchildren, Joe (Maria) Doyle and Julie Doyle of Columbus, Gail (David) Yates of Redkey, Brandie Hendricks of Selma, Alabama, Leslie (Robert) Miller of Bluff City, Tennessee, and Jason (Jessica) Hendricks of Daphine, Alabama; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Duard Litton; and two sisters, Drucilla Gearries and Dorothy Litton.
