| | | Mollie Hendricks, 92, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital, South Campus, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mrs. Hendricks retired in 1981 from Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville, where she worked as an Attendant for 27 years. She graduated in 1934 from Dupont High School in Dupont, Indiana and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana. She was also a volunteer at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital and was recognized by the Hospital for volunteering over 5,000 hours. Mrs. Hendricks enjoyed crocheting, reading, and cooking.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Calling is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Dupont Cemetery.
Memorials contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.

Born March 18, 1916, in Berea, Kentucky, Mollie was the daughter of William Ely and Mary Elizabeth Kelly Ely. She married Ralph Hendricks on May 1, 1940 in Madison, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1976.
Survivors include one daughter, Eloise Samples of Versailles; one brother, Frank Ely of Dupont; six grandchildren, Rob (Lori) Samples of Morgantown, Darrick (Shannon Ball) Samples of Corbin, KY, Paige (Lynn) Lohrum of Versailles, Tom (Tracy) Hendricks of Butlerville, John (Kim) Hendricks of Hope, and Bob (Shannon) Hendricks of Martinsville; 10 great-grandchildren, Ryan Samples and Jordan Samples of Morgantown, Jack Lohrum, Sam Lohrum, and Kelly Lohrum of Versailles, Deatra Hendricks and Tommy Hendricks of Butlerville, Alexis Hendricks, Brandon Hendricks, and Caitlyn Hendricks of Martinsivlle, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tom Hendricks.
