| | | Helen Elizabeth Brothers, 71 of North Vernon, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Brothers formerly worked for Amos Hill Veneer & Lumber Company in Edinburg, Indiana, as a machine operator. Prior to this, she had worked for Goodwill in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Brothers was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in North Vernon, Indiana. She enjoyed reading the Bible, writing letters and attending Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in North Vernon, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.

Born February 17, 1937 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Helen was the daughter of Frank Joseph and Helen Simchak Oravec.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen A. (Jack) Mateer and Judy A. (Ray) Miller both of North Vernon, Indiana. One brother, Frank Joseph (Catherine) Oravec of Hernando, Florida; one sister, Betty (Albert) Overman of Summerhill, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Patricia Mateer, Samantha Brothers, Lisa Ann Brothers, Nathan Ray Brothers all of North Vernon, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Raymond Jay Brothers, Jr. and her brother, John Oravec.
