| | | Carol Maxine Harding, 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:56 a.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mrs. Harding retired in 1996, after 26 years of service working as a Payroll Clerk for the Jennings County School Corporation. Prior to that, she worked for Matthews Drug Store in North Vernon. She attended First Baptist Church in North Vernon where she served as a member of their dinner committee. Mrs. Harding was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in North Vernon. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading books and spending time with her family.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the funeral home and after 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the First Baptist Church building fund.

Born May 16, 1934, in Jennings County, Indiana, Carol was the daughter of Charles Ervin Robbins and Cleonia Louise Cooper Robbins. She married Donald Lee Harding on August 8, 1954, in Jennings County, Indiana.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years; a son, David (Diane) Harding of North Vernon; a daughter, Lisa K. Wagoner of North Vernon; two sisters, Sandra (Bill) Graham of Scipio and Loretta Deeg of North Vernon; two grandsons, Kenneth D. (Meghan) Wagoner of Ogleville and Bradley M. (Rachel) Wagoner of Belleville, IL; a step-granddaughter, Fallon (John Miller) Melcher of Defuniak Spring, FL; a great-granddaughter, Keely Elizabeth Wagoner of Ogleville; two step great-grandsons, Trenton Melcher and Andrew Miller of Defuniak Spring, FL; and one step great-granddaughter, Kaylee Miller of Defuniak Spring, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
