Patrick Joseph Mesaeh, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:42 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Mesaeh retired after 39 years of Service to our Country from the United States Air Force in 1994 as a Tech Sergeant. He was a member of The American Legion in Edinburg, Indiana, and the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing and bowling.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana, with the Rev. John Ruland and Rev. Terry Branum officiating. Family and friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Matt Hester Post #2021 Veterans of Foreign War, North Vernon, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County or Cornerstone Baptist Church of Elizabethtown.

Born March 16, 1937, in Vermillion County, Illinois, Patrick was the son of Alex and Helen Bann Mesaeh. He married Buddina Herbin on April 4, 1970, in Edinburgh, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Buddina; two sons, Carl (Goldie) Vaught of Elizabethtown, Indiana and Ray (Louann) Vaught of Columbus, Indiana; four daughters, Patty (Rick) Ray of Memphis, Tennessee, Cindy (Kenneth) Cutter of Terre Haute, Indiana, Penny (Tom) Smith of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Buddina (Steve) Van Antwerp of Columbus, Indiana; two brothers, Dale (Stella) Mesaeh of Chicago, Illinois, and Michael Mesaeh of Clinton, Indiana; twenty-two grandchildren; twelve great- grandchildren; and, one “grand-dog”, Rory.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
