Thomas “T.J.” Grizard, 88, of Scipio, passed away at 5:10 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.

Mr. Grizard was a Life Long Farmer and a self employed Truck Driver. He was a 50 year member of the 6 Mile Masonic Lodge in Hayden, Indiana and a 50 year member of the Scipio Presbyterian Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. During his time of service he was a Navy Seabee and served his Country during WWII. He enjoyed working on tractors, gardening and Church Fellowship.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008, at Scipio Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mitch Coggin officiating. Family and Friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and after 10:00 am Friday at the Church.

A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by 6 Mile Masonic Lodge at 7:00 pm Thursday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Scipio Cemetery in Scipio, Indiana.

Military Graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Matt Hester Post #2021Veterans of Foreign War, North Vernon, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Scipio Presbyterian Church or the American Lung Association.

Born December 6, 1919, in Kentucky, Thomas was the son of Fred and Ada Lou King Grizard He married N. Eileen Matthews on September 10, 1942 in Crothersville, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Eileen, one brother, William Paul (Trudy) Grizard of Grass Valley, Ca., Ten Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Fred Walden and Cecil Edwin Grizard.
