Edna Mae Langtange, 90, of Westport, Indiana, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008, at her residence. Mrs. Langtange was a homemaker who loved cats and birds. She enjoyed traveling and camping. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2008, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana, with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. The funeral will be conducted at a later date at Toomey-Obrien Funeral Home in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Hospice of Jennings County. Online condolences may be given to the family at www.dovesharprudicel.com Born October 29, 1918, in Old Lemon, Maine, Edna was the daughter of Edward Vowles and Cecilia Pelkey Vowles. She married Wilford Langtange in 1940 in South Brewer, Maine. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons; Peter (Sally) Langtange of Westport, Indiana, and John (Linda) Langtange of Manchester, Connecticut; two daughters, Deanna (William, Jr.) Barry of Chilopee, MA and Debra (James) Pope of Richmond, MA; one brother, Vernon Vowles of Naugatuck, CT; one sister, Thelma Boutin of Old Town, Maine; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
