Lewis Stephen Davis, 50, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 12:58 a.m. on December 1, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Davis had worked for Stonebelt in Columbus, Indiana; Archer Consultation Services in North Vernon, Indiana; Atterbury Job Corp in Edinburgh, Indiana; Cosco in Columbus, Indiana; and, W.C.F.C. in Chicago, Illinois. He was a 1976 graduate of Merrillville High School in Merrillville, Indiana. He served in the U. S. Army from 1976 to 1979. He was a former member of AmVets Post #7 in North Vernon, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Born March 13, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, Lewis was the son of Lawrence and Deloria Davis Phillips of Gary, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana, with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Military Rites will be presented at the funeral home on Tuesday by Matt Hester Post #2021, V.F.W. North Vernon, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Webster and Malvery Davis.
