| | | Bonnie M. Wrightman, 82, formerly of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away at 8:55 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008, at Harbour Health Center in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Mrs. Wrightman was a former Civil Service employee, having worked for the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security, and the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base where she was engaged in editing curriculum material. During her service with the Air Force, she received four Outstanding Performance Awards presented in Military ceremonies.
Mrs. Wrightman was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a 1944 graduate of Vernon High School and a 1979 graduate of Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. She held a Master Beautician License and opened the first beauty salon in Vernon, Indiana, during the 1940’s.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Jennings County, Indiana, with the Rev. Marvin Wright officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana.

Born April 10, 1926, in Vernon, Indiana, Bonnie was the daughter of Dr. Melvin E. Peters and Jeannette Stewart Peters. She married Ernest R. Wrightman on October 25, 1975, in Columbus, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2000.
Survivors include one son, George (Judy) Vicars of Punta Gordo, Florida; one daughter, Dr. Linda (Chuck) Staley of Anderson, Indiana; and one granddaughter, Catherine Staley of Anderson, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; one sister, Eleanor Skinner; one brother, Jack Peters, and one grandson, David Staley.
