Floyd Eugene Perkins Sr., 85 of North Vernon passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.

Mr. Perkins retired from North Vernon Forge in 1988 after 20 years as a laborer. He attended San Jacinto School in Jennings County. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and car racing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be through Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the donor’s choice.

Mr. Perkins was born February 17, 1923 in Jennings County, Indiana. He was the son of Ora and Eddith Mae Schonfeld Perkins. He married Wilma Davis Perkins on March 6, 1999 in North Vernon, Indiana. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2007

Survivors include one son, Floyd E. Perkins Jr. of North Vernon; daughter Suzanne (Randy) Cole of Lexington, Indiana; a brother, Dean (Olive) Perkins of Butlerville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Colton Perkin of North Vernon, Indiana, Natasha Perkins and Billy Waltz of Lexington, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
