ARNOLD F. ANSAY

Mr. Arnold Ansay, formerly of East Prospect Street in Port Washington, passed away Friday, December 7th, 2007 at Harbor Cove in Port Washington. He was 77 years old. Arnie was born in the Town of Belgium (Holy Cross) on January 24, 1930, son of Ferdinand and Anna Feirestein Ansay. As a child and young man he spent much time working on the family farm. He was united in marriage with Caroline Bossler at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington on September 29, 1951. The couple settled in Port Washington and raised their family. Arnie worked as a truck driver for Voeller Inc. for 26 years, retiring in 1991. Mr. Ansay was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of the Port Washington Police Reserves and a former member of Ozaukee County Rescue. He was a very social man who enjoyed meeting his friends on a daily basis for meals at Harry’s Restaurant and games of pool at the Senior Center. In his youth, Arnie enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping. After he retired, Mr. Ansay worked as a crossing guard and helped the Port Washington Police Department as a reserve officer, driving vehicles for repair, working parades and helping out as needed. His loving wife of 56 years preceded him in death on May 16th of this year. Arnie is survived by his children Gerald "Jerry" Ansay of Fredonia, Barbara (Paul) Prochaska of Port Washington, Jayne (Marvin) Kolbach of the Town of Port Washington and JoAnn (Lewis Howard) Ansay of Willis, TX, 8 grandchildren: Nichole (John) Zarling of Cedarburg, Jared Ansay of Saukville, Pat (Nicole) Ansay, also of Saukville, Frank and Troy Prochaska, both of Port Washington, Terry Kolbach of New Berlin, John and Judy Kolback, both of Port Washington, 5 great-grandchildren: Samuel, Mark and Tanya Zarling of Cedarburg, Austin and Emily Ansay of Saukville. He is further survived by his sister Marilyn Watry of Burlington, sisters-in-law Bernice Winnemuller and Hiltrude (Norbert) Federspiel, both of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 11th, 6PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. Father Tom Lajewski will officiate. Inurnment in the parish mausoleum will take place on Friday. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 4-6PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington as assisting the family with arrangements.
