CLARENCE N. BARES

Clarence Bares, age 91 years of 2108 Wayside Lane, Town of Belgium, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1916 in the Town of Belgium, son of Engelbert and Mary Thomes Bares. On June 2, 1945 he married Eleanor Wollner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. The couple operated a dairy farm in the Town of Belgium until retiring. She preceded him in death in 1999. Clarence was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and a member of the Luxemburg Society of Wisconsin. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, and volunteering at area nursing home. He is survived by eight children Francis (Helen) Bares of Ogden, Utah; Joseph (Floran) Bares of Bartellsville, OK; John (Laura) Bares of Tucson, AZ; Mary (Patrick) Kelley of Oregon, WI; Barbara Bares of Middleton, WI; Kathy Bares of Belgium, WI; Jerry Bares of Belgium, WI; and Monica (Robert) Barth of Batavia, IL, 15 grandchildren, three brothers Sylvester Bares of Port Washington, Ed Bares of Belgium and Lester (Janet) Bares of Merrill, WI and one sister Elissa Bauer of Fredonia. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2, 11 AM at Holy Rosary Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, Hwy. B, Belgium with Father James Ernster officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium on Friday from 4-8 PM and at the CHURCH Saturday from 10 – 11 AM. Parish vigil Friday eve. 7 PM at the Funeral Home.
