Mrs. Betty Bares, age 83, of Wayside Lane in the Town of Belgium, passed away at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center Saturday evening, September 6, 2003. Betty was born on July 31, 1920 in Adell, WI, daughter of Otto and Elizabeth Kampmann Emley. On April 12, 1947 she was united in Holy Matrimony with Edwin Bares at St, Patrick’s Catholic Church in Adell. Betty lovingly raised her ten children and also worked as a cook at the Belgium Community Center for many years. Mrs. Bares was a member of the Holy Rosary Parish and the Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed embroidery, bowling, traveling, gardening, and collecting Hummels. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edwin Bares of the Town of Belgium, 4 daughters: Patricia Bares of Brown Deer, Hedy (Peter) Poull and Ruth (Rick) Kultgen, both of Port Washington, and Annie (Ron) Stadler of Town of Fredonia, 5 sons: Larry (Audrey), Steven (Carol) and Edwin C. (Manejeh), all of Belgium, Charles (Mary) of Elkhart Lake and Anthony (Jill) Bares of Fredonia, 29 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Cordell (Roger) Brueckbauer of Kohler and 1 brother, Gerald Emley of Sheboygan Falls. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, She is preceded in death by 1 son, Paul, 1 sister, Jureen and 2 brothers, Monroe and Vernon. She will be dearly missed by those who loved and knew her. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, September 10, 2003, 7 PM at Holy Rosary Parish, Hwy B, Belgium. Father Dick Fleischmann and Father Jim Ernster will officiate. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday AT THE CHURCH from 4-7PM.
