Mrs. Frances “Frankie” Biever, age 83 years, of Port Washington, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, Ozaukee Campus in Mequon. She was born on May 9, 1922, in Independence, WI, the youngest of seven children born to the late John Marsolek and Elizabeth Kupka Marsolek. After graduating from high school in Independence, Frankie attended St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Marshfield. On October 19, 1948 she married Vernon Biever at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence. Mrs. Biever worked as a nurse at both St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield and at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington. She then went on to airline stewardess school in Kansas City, and worked for Trans World Airlines for two years. Frankie also helped her husband Vernon in his Ben Franklin Store, and in 1975 helped him start Biever Travel in Port Washington. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the TWA Clipped Wings. Frankie enjoyed gardening, traveling extensively, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Vernon of Port Washington, 3 children; Barbara (James) Farley of Tracy, CA, John Biever of Shorewood, and Jim (Mary) Biever of Port Washington. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Megan and Sarah Farley, and Amy and Mike Biever, one sister Josephine Waldera of La Crescent, MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington, with Father Allan Sommer officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington. Friends may call at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Avenue, Port Washington on Tuesday the 11th from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of choice suggested. Eernisse Funeral Home, is assisting the family.
