MRS. LENA BIEVER

Mrs. Lena Beiver of Harbor Club in Port Washington, passed away on June 8, 2007 at the age of 98. Lena was born in Hospers, Iowa on April 15, 1909, daughter of Peter and Catherine Goschey Jungers. She was united in marriage with William Biever at Holy Cross Catholic Church in the Town of Belgium on November 8, 1932. William preceded her in death in 1971. The couple farmed in Fredonia for36 years, while raising 9 children. Lena was a member of St. Rose Parish in Fredonia. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting, making rag rugs, gardening and was well known for her excellent cooking. Survivors include eight children: Shirley (Richard) Birenbaum of Cedar Grove, Allen (Liliana) Biever of Port Washington, Eleanore (James) Yax of Lakeside, AZ, Mary Ann (Walter) Thill of Fredonia, Adela (the late Richard) Hartman of Port Washington, Luella (Steven) Harter of West Bend, William (Rosanne) Biever of Fredonia, and Trudy (Garry) Carlson of Duluth, MN. She is further survived by 28 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband William, her daughter Ellen, one grandson, Benjamin Carlson, 1 great-granddaughter, Stella Vernon, two brothers, William and Nic Jungers, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances (Nic) Lanser and Viola (Clarence) Schemmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday 7PM, leaving from the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington going to Holy Cross Chapel in the Town of Belgium for Mass at 7:30 PM. Father Jim Ernster will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband the next day at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Fredonia. The family will receive visitors at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington on Tuesday from 4–7 PM. Memorials are suggested to Rosemary School.
