Teresa and Family, I learned of Steve's death while out of town with my family to Karissa's AAU basketball nationals in Virginia. Larry, the girls and I loved him so much. I would so enjoy when he taught the adult bible class on Wednesday evenings at the Old Country Church. I will always remember his big smile and the fact that he always would come around and shake hands with everyone. I want you all to know that I feel he was a man of strong faith and that always inspired me to do better in my daily walk with God. I know how lucky you are to have such a wonderful pastor and church family to get through this. Take one day at a time. If you ever need to talk my number is 418-6432. In my heart, I believe that Steve is in heaven. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers! Love, Joye, Larry, Lacey and Karissa Adkins | From: Joye Adkins 07/26/2007 11:23 PM

I worked with Steve around 10 years but truly only got to know him the last couple of years. Steve started to bring my wife and I firewood all winter the last winter we worked in the factory. Found out that my wife was working with Steve's daughter Alicia at SOMC. After losing my job at Meridian I ended up doing some construction with RESTORATION and ended up on some sites with Steve JR and his Uncle(Steve SR's Brother). Basically boiling down to several conversations about what a great person STEVE truly was. To be honest my heart is broken for all of you and for Steve. I can still see him driving by me on his forktruck and smiling at me as he drove by. Steve accepted everybody and cast no judgment on anyone. He will be greatly missed that is a fact. | From: Kevin & Susie Baker 07/23/2007 11:48 AM
