| | | JAMES ERNEST “ERNIE” HICKMAN, age 70 of New Market, TN passed away Friday evening, June 15, 2012 following a long battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Bruce and Eva (Hardin) Hickman and was preceded in death by his brother, Morris Hickman. He was a popular mechanic of the Piedmont community where he owned and operated East Tennessee Auto Repair of New Market. Ernie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Vietnam era conflict and was a member of the McCampbell’s Chapel United Methodist Church. An avid hunter and fisherman who truly enjoyed the outdoors and being with friends, Ernie will be greatly missed.He is survived by his son, James Ernest Hickman, Jr. and his mother, Darlene and daughter, Sandy Shiflet; fiance’, Sharon Roland Breeden and her sons, Justin (Stacy) Breeden and Aaron Breeden; grandson, James McElroy; sister, Lois (Martin) Howard; sister-in-law, Betty Hickman; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 19, 2012, 2:00pm at Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Bro. Justin Breeden and Rev. Jimmy Norris officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Family will receive friends, Monday afternoon and evening 4:00 to 8:00pm at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE
