MARQUETTE Carol Anne Kunick, 71, of 1806 East Avenue, Marquette, entered eternal life Friday morning, October 16, 2009, at home, in the comfort and care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.
Carol was born March 15, 1938 in Marquette, a daughter of Charles and Rosella (Nebel) Jolin. She was raised in Marquette and graduated from the Marquette Senior High School. On March 23, 1957, Carol married Albert Kunick and together the couple established a home and raised their family in Marquette. Carol was employed for a time as a secretary with Pleasure Time Products and later worked in food service at Northern Michigan University. She enjoyed her role as homemaker, raising five children and later taking pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren. An avid outdoorswoman, Carol loved family camping and all that nature had to offer. In her leisure, she loved painting wooden craftwork that her husband created, sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Sonny Kunick; two daughters, Patti (Lance) Larsson and Sandy Kunick Norbury both of Marquette; three sons, Michael (Julie) Kunick of Roseville, Robert (Kim) Besore of Traverse City, and Gerald (Dawn) Kunick of Seymour, WI; her grandchildren, Shane (Mary), Mike, and Jeff (Sierra) Peterson, Christina Kunick, Kyle (Emily) and Kevin (Emily) Besore, Kristen (Josh) Kennard, Jason and Jeffrey (JoAnne) Kunick, Angela (Nick) Davis, and Shawn Norbury; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lowell (Florence) Jolin and Charles (Jackie) Jolin both of Marquette; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Rosella Jolin; and a brother, Ken Jolin.
