Carol Jean Barr

SANDS TWP MI – Carol Jean Barr, age 68, of 552 County Rd. 480, entered eternal life Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
Born October 16, 1941 in Marquette, a daughter of Edward and Holly (Buckmaster) Beaudry, Carol was raised in Marquette and was a graduate of the Graveraet High School. A member of Calvary Lutheran Church, she was a homemaker and took care of many other families besides her own. She possessed an extraordinary talent to create beautiful hand crafted gifts and, over the years, many children were the recipients of her talents. She was a great mother and grandmother to her family. She had many friends whom she loved and adored, but Cheryl Houle was her closest friend. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the many friends and families who have supported her through the years.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Richard H; three daughters, Linda Morgan (Leland Nellist Jr.) of Marquette, Marilyn (Scott) Hansen of Republic and Sandra (Greg) Jactzak of Bay City; two sons, David (Terry) Barr of Guam and Dennis (Laurie) Barr of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, Norma Matlock of Oregon, Patricia Belisle of Marquette and Leah Rodda of Republic; brothers, Edward Beaudry of Wisconsin and Michael Beaudry of Arizona; twelve grandchildren, Sara Cobb, Joseph Morgan, Kayla Previti, Joshua Hansen, Nicholas Barr, Matthew Morgan, Jonathan Hansen, Holly Barr, Jacob Hansen, Bradley Jatczak, Brittany Barr and Brent Jatczak; and seven great grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her older sister, Marie Hubbard; and brother, Gary J. Beaudry.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Calvary Lutheran Church. Services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Joel Fleischer officiating. Burial will take place in the Sands Township Cemetery. The Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family where online condolences may be made at www.fassbenderswanson.com
