SANDS, MI – Wallace Woodrow Scott, 88, former Arkansas and Texas resident, entered eternal life early Friday morning, November 6, 2009 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Fran and Herschel Smith, 285 Taylor Road, Sands. Mr. Scott had resided in Sands since August.
Born March 3, 1921 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Louis and Agnes (Wallace) Scott, he was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, AR and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. He worked as an architect in Little Rock, AR and Fort Worth, TX and served as pastor at New Hope Baptist Church in Lonoke, AR and Natural Steps Baptist Church in Roland, AR, and briefly in Roane, TX. Following retirement, he resided in Fort Worth, TX and was a member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church. Over the years, he resided in Malvern, AR, El Paso, TX, and Little Rock, AR.
Survivors include his daughter, Frances “Fran” (Herschel) Smith of Sands, MI; his grandchildren, Karon (Sean) Wright of Fayetteville, AR, Joseph D. Smith of New York City, and Margaret “Maggie” Smith of Gwinn, MI; his sister-in-law and her husband, Leslie and Wanda Harrison of Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Permelia “Pam”.
Graveside services will be held at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, AR on Friday, November 13, at 3:30 pm.
