Brian D. Junker, CFSP
Funeral Director - President
Brian joined the Fawcett Funeral Home in June 1966. He earned his mortuary degree from the University of Minnesota and also holds a B.A. from Winona State University. He served his apprenticeship and early guidance from Raymond W. Fawcet, founder of the firm and his son, O.J. Fawcett. Brian was the first funeral director in Winona to earn his CFSP, Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, and has maintained it since 1998. In 1998, Brian acquired the assests of the funeral home from O.J. Fawcett and in January 2002, he sold a portion to his business partner, Douglas Penning. He is active in various civic and fraternal organizations in the Winona area: is a past president of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association; a Minnesota Lions Eye Bank enucleator and a past member/chair of the Minnesota Department of Health Committee of Examiners in Mortuary Science.
Douglas J. Penning
Funeral Director - Vice-President
Douglas J. Penning is a native of South Dakota. He graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, Dallas, TX and has been a mortician since 1986, with licenses in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and South Dakota. He is also a Minnesota Lions Eye Bank enucleator and is active in civic and fraternal organizations. Previously employed as a mortician in Sioux Falls, SD and Faribault, MN, he moved to Winona in July, 2001 and became a business partner with Brian Junker in January 2002.
