Lillian H. Rott, age 87, of Winona, passed on peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare, Winona.
Lillian Hulda was born August 30, 1922, in Ridgeway, MN to Carl and Bertha (Borkowski) Rott. She was employed as a nurse anesthetist at Worthington, MN, and then for 25 years at Community Memorial Hospital, Winona until retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Winona and was extremely active in the church and its activities. She was very interested in a variety of subjects, including gardening, crafts, genealogy, antiques, music, and many other interests. Lillian considered her life a gift from her creator that she could use to help others, always with her faith guiding her efforts.
She is survived by three sisters: Ella Rott, Winona; Martha (Ivan) Siem, Winona; and Ann (Ernest) Stoehr, Elgin, MN; sisters-in-law: Florence (Walter Rott) Johns, Winona and Selma (Robert) Rott, Lewiston, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Walter Rott, Robert Rott, Alfred (Ann) Rott; Albert (Ella) Rott; and Henry (Marie) Rott; and a sister Agnes (Carl) Siem.
Services to remember Lillian will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at St. Martins Ev. Lutheran Church, Winona, with Rev. Vernon Kettner, officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2009 at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona and beginning at 9:30 AM Saturday at the church.
