| | | Mary A. Sachinski, age 95 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday evening, May 23, 2010 in the Aurora Medical Center. On July 27, 1914 she was born in Brewster, MN, the daughter of Anthony and Alice (McCall) Weinandt. Mary was a homemaker. On September 27, 1938 she married Joseph Sachinski in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster. He passed away on January 22, 1996. She was a long time member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church and most recently the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St. Peter's site). Mary was also a member of the Rosary Society and volunteered for funeral dinners and the Oshkosh Apostolate for many years.
Survivors include her son: Jerome (Carol) Sachinski of Escanaba, MI; her daughter: Rosemary (Jerome) Wiss of Fridley, MN; her sister: Sister Lauren Weinandt of Rochester, MN; her seven grandchildren: Maria (Greg) Eastman; Kristina (Dr. Thomas) Karkkainen; Kelly (Heath) Garland; Michael (Mary Beth) Wiss; Steven (Shawna) Wiss; Jennifer (Michael) Norstrem and Melissa (Nicholas) Altringer; her great-grandchildren: Gunnar, Gustaf and Gabriel Eastman; Kaisa, Evelyn and Thomas Karkkainen; Landon Garland; Abigail, Joseph and Gretchen Wiss; Carter and Caden Wiss; Emma and Ryan Norstrem; Nolan and Gavin Altringer; two sisters-in-law: Loretta Weinandt of Brewster, MN and Kathryn Weinandt of Green Bay and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 27, 2010 in the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St. Josaphat's site) at the corner of Walnut and Congress Street with Rev. Fr. Jim Jugenheimer as celebrant and Rev. Fr. John Evans as con-celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. and 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
