Mary Elizabeth Dean Littlejohn left this earth at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, with the Holy Spirit to join her Heavenly Father and Savior in Heaven. Born May 20, 1916, in Gaffney, SC, and formerly of Roebuck, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Koonce Dean and the wife of 63 years to the late Joe Maxwell Littlejohn, Sr. She was a beautician with Belk’s Beauty Shop for 25 years and later owned and operated Mary’s Beauty Shop in Roebuck. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church of Gaston and a former member of Roebuck Presbyterian Church in Roebuck.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jo Boatwright and her husband Gordon of Una, and Nan Fraser and her husband Pat of Gaston; a son, Joe Maxwell Littlejohn, Jr. and his wife Edwina of Waycross, GA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Dean Littlejohn; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister.

Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gary Farmer. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church GPS Ministry, 1959 Woodtrail Drive, Gaston, SC 29053; or to Reliant Hospice, 200 Center Point Circle, Suite 170, Columbia, SC 29210.

Special thanks is extended to Dr. Hicks, CNA’s, and nurses for their wonderful care.
