The funeral home was intially started in 1919 as Heft Funeral Home by J.O. Heft and son Frank Heft. They purchased the Lewis Haas home, which was built in 1905, in 1930 and converted it into the funeral home. In 1954, Frank''s nephew Robert White became a partner in the funeral home and in 1963 Robert became the sole owner of the business. In 1968, an addition was built on the west side of the funeral home for living quarters. In 1971, Phil Fouts began working with Mr. White. In 1973, Mr. White purchased the Barrett Funeral Home in Dunlap. In 1980, Phil and Anita Fouts purchased the business from the White''s. In 1995, their son Paul joined them in the business and in 1998, Paul and his wife Beth purchased the business from his parents.
The funeral home continues it''s history of family ownership. Just two different families have owned the funeral home.
