| | | Kevin Alan Odefey was born November 5, 1965, to Darrell and Sandy (Christensen) Odefey in Denison, Iowa. He was raised in Moorhead and graduated from East Monona High School in 1984. Kevin worked at the Mapleton Press while in high school. After graduation he worked as a traction technician at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa. He also worked at the Denison Bulletin for a short time. Kevin married Megan Swanger. After a time Kevin lived in LeMars before moving to Cherokee in December of 2007. Kevin enjoyed playing the guitar.
Kevin died on Friday, February 22, 2008, in Cherokee, Iowa at the age of 42 years, three months, and 17 days.
Kevin was preceded in death by twin brothers, Ricky and Randy Odefey; and two grandfathers, Vernon Christensen and Elvin Odefey. He is survived by his father Darrell Odefey of Moorhead, Iowa; mother Sandy and her husband Steve Fouts of Dunlap, Iowa; sister, Tyci and her husband Steve Black of Onawa, Iowa; brother, Tom Odefey of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two grandmothers, Phyllis Christensen of Woodbine, Iowa, Rosalia Odefey of Denison, Iowa; two nieces, Sienna Black and Logan Odefey; two nephews, Danny Black and Jonathan Odefey; and many other relatives and friends.
