Lucille Elizabeth (Edmonds) Sandquist was born April 11, 1924, on her grandparent’s farm west of Pisgah, Iowa to Roy and Gertrude (Rehberg) Edmonds. In 1933, the family moved to Little Sioux, Iowa where Lucille graduated from High School in 1941. She went to a business college in Omaha before finding employment at United Airlines. Lucille married LeRoy D. Sandquist August 3, 1946, at Mondamin, Iowa. The family moved west of Woodbine in 1953 and into Woodbine in April, 1964.

Lucille was a member of Woodbine Sacred Heart Parish for 56 years. She was a member of Church Women United, Town & Country Arts, and Harrison County Genealogical Society.

Lucille died Saturday August 8, 2009, at Rose Vista Nursing Home at the age of 85 years 3 months, and 28 days.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy Sandquist; brother, Gerald Edmonds; brothers-in-law, Dean Sandquist, Grant Rystad and Kenneth McNerney; sisters-in-law, Mary Sandquist and Maxine McNerney. She is survived by her six children, Sandra (Dennis) Olofson of Minden, Iowa; Jean (Darrell) Creighton of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Bev (Paul) “Pudge” Grabill of Harlan, Iowa; Mary (Mike) Riley of Waterloo, Iowa; Charles (Margaret) Sandquist of Woodbine, Iowa; David Sandquist of King City, California; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Catherine (Albert) Bock of Missouri Valley, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Lucile Edmonds of Omaha, Nebraska; Lois Rystad of El Paso, Texas; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
