Mrs. Celia Stempert of Port Jerivs, NY, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Westchester Medical Center Taylor Care Center. She was 69.
She was born May 13, 1938 in Witham, Essex County, England the daughter of the late Leonard Frank and the late Marjorie Betty Andrews Hammond.
She was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship, Matamoras, PA
She is survived by her husband: James E. Stempert at home. 4 sons: Wade Stempert of Port Jervis, Paul Stempert & his wife Renee of Belfast, NY, Gary Stempert & his wife Kimberly of New Milford, CT and Carl Stempert & his wife Joyce of Port Jervis. 1 Daughter Laura Barnett & her husband Richard of Port Washington, NY. Brother: Roger Hammond & his wife Brenda of South Woodham Ferrers, England. 2 brothers-In-Law: Artie and Bobby Stempert both of Port Jervis. 6 Grandchidren: Joseph, Katie, Robby, Ashley and 2 Grandsons currently serving U.S. Marine Corps., Keith & William. Also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Sunday, September 23, 2007 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Gray-Parker Funeral Home, with Rev. Claude Whitley officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
