Loch Sheldrake, NY formerly of Glen Spey, NY


Ms. Erica Marie Conner of Loch Sheldrake and formerly of Glen Spey returned home to the welcoming arms of our Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 25.

She was born October 5, 1983 in Nyack, NY the daughter of Debra A. Martin and Michael R. Conner.

Erica graduated from Eldred Central High School class of 2001. She was currently enrolled at Sullivan County Community College pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management.

Her academic efforts resulted in her placement on the Presidents List. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Port Jervis.

Erica was blessed with a loving and giving heart, a wonderful sense of humor, a love of reading and love for her family.

Erica loved Calvin and Hobbes the works of Augusten Burroughs and Sponge Bob. She was a member of the ''Colbert Nation'' and a fan of ''The Daily Show with John Stewart.''

Forever young at heart her time with her niece Charlotte always brought out the best in her.

Erica is survived by: her mothers Debra Martin and Katherine Babcock of Glen Spey and her father Michael Conner of Nyack, NY. Her sister and best friend Bobbi-Ann Kanoff and her brother-in-law William Kanoff, II of and the love of her life, her niece Charlotte Rose Kanoff all of Glen Spey, NY. She is also survived by her Maternal Grandparents Eileen and Richard Martin and her Paternal Grandfather William Conner; her aunts Karen Lubanty, Lynne Wilhelm and Sandra Conner all of Stony Point, NY. Her Uncles Richard Martin and his wife Kelly of Moore, SC; William Conner and his wife Janice of North Creek, NY and James Wilhelm of Stony Point, NY. Her Cousins Jennifer Lubanty; Allison and Lindsay Wilhelm and Shannon and Ryan Moore all of Stony Point, NY. Katherine Martin and her God Daughter Meghan Martin and Sean, Caitlin and Kevin Conner. Erica also leaves behind her ‘’Baby Girl’’ her Kitten Pearl.
Erica is predeceased by her Paternal Grandmother Jane Conner and her Uncle Walter Lubanty who we know brought her safely home.

Erica also leaves behind her many friends from Eldred High School, Sullivan County Community College, and the Incarnation Camp at Ivoryton, CT along with an extended family of great aunts, uncles and cousins.

Erica is at rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Rest in Peace our beautiful Baby Girl.

The family also wants to thank the Nurses and Physicians at Catskill Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care of Erica in her final days especially the Nurses Matthew, Mary Kay, Susan and Rosemary.

Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 2 - 4 pm & 7 - 9 pm.

A mass of resurrection will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Grace Episcopal Church, 85 East Main Street, Port Jervis, NY with The Rev. David Lee Carlson officiating.

Burial will be at Brick Church Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Erica’s memory be made to: the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005-4001 or the New York Stem Cell Foundation, 163 Amsterdam Avenue, Box 309, New York, NY 10023
