Mrs. Anne R. Dwyer

Mrs. Anne R. Dwyer 86 of Port Jervis, NY died on December 19, 2011. She was born in Port Jervis on June 9, 1925. Anne was the only child of the late Eloy A. and Sadie B. Reagen. She was a graduate of Port Jervis Schools and the College of New Rochelle. Anne was the widow of Daniel J. Dwyer who died on February 19, 2011.

A long time employee of the City of Port Jervis, she worked at the Water Department and for 25 years was the secretary for the Department of Public Works.

She was very active as a lay person in St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Port Jervis, the Pastoral Care Department of Bon Secours Community Hospital and was a 50+ year member of the Court Madonna #114 of the Catholic Daughters. She won several national and state awards as the editor of the Catholic Daughters newsletter.

A family statement read: We are grateful that God has finally granted Mom her just peace. We will celebrate her life as we remember all the special memories we enjoyed and know that we have our very own angel in heaven.”

Son: Daniel Dwyer and his wife Gloria Bardonia, NY
Daughter: Sharon Tompkins and her husband Thomas “Skip” Port Jervis, NY
Daughter: Barbara Dwyer-Anderson and her husband Peter Port Jervis, NY
Daughter: Maureen Dwyer-Hirten and her husband Michael Okemos, MICH
Eight Grandchildren: Kevin, Brian & Sean Hirten, Laurie and Daniel Dwyer, Christie Gangaware and her husband David, Tim Anderson, Matt Anderson.
5 Great-grandchildren: Caleigh And Keaton Anderson, Morgan, Ashley and Joshua Gangaware.

Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 2 pm – 4 pm & 7 pm -9 pm. The Catholic Daughters service will be held at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 with a 9:00am Prayer at the funeral home followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 45 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
